A TALK ON THE WILD SIDE
11am Sunday 22 November
Free & Livestreamed on Youtube
Join us for an informal conversation with horticulturalist and gardener Frances Tophill and some keen local gardeners about the gardens, allotments, re-wilding projects and wild spaces of Folkestone.
A regular presenter on ITV’s Love Your Garden and BBC’s Gardener’s World, Frances Tophill is the author of four books on gardening including First Time Gardener and Container Gardening. Her most recent book Rewild Your Garden was published by Quercus in August this year.
The book is about a wild approach to gardening in order to maximise our outdoor spaces and how plants benefit the ecosystem and its inhabitants. It discusses the conservation of plants, fungi and all kinds of animals and how our gardens can help them eat, breed and survive.
A leisurely brunch-time chat about nature, discussing how plants and planting can create an environment that is beneficial to all kinds of wildlife and rethinking the way we garden in the process!
