Folkestone Against Fascism: Local Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War

This new exhibition is presented by art and history students from Dover Grammar School for Girls, and focuses on the lives and sacrifices of three men from Folkestone who fought in the Spanish Civil War.

Inspired by the town of Folkestone as it is today, and the past and present editions of the Triennial, three artworks have been created to commemorate the lives of Harry Adley, Arthur Ovenden, and George Gorman, as well as their comrades in the fight against fascism. Alongside these artworks is an exhibition telling the story of the Spanish Civil War and Harry, Arthur and George.

This exhibition has been supported by Folkestone Fringe as part of Sub-Plot.
