Greg Taylor

Greg Taylor graduated from MA Human Rights at the University of Sussex in 2016, his dissertation on the fulfilment of the right to shelter in the UK included a case study on the failure to provide sufficient affordable housing in the Shepway area. Since graduating Greg has pursued a keen interest in alternative housing provision and community-led housing schemes, particularly in cases of market failure such as the Folkestone Gasworks.

Greg is currently a Neighbourhood History Researcher for the Folkestone Gasworks History Project, which has combined archival research with significant community engagement to understand the development of the area around the gasworks site over time, and the significance of the site itself in the history of Folkestone. Having lived in Folkestone his entire life Greg is eager to explore ways of improving his hometown through innovative use of planning and design.
